About The Artwork

The inspiration for this linocut print was a lighthouse found in the southern part of Denmark, on the small peninsula of Kegnaes, which is part of the island of Als, across from Sonderborg. My ancestors lived here and some of the remnants of their past are still in Kegnaes, including the church, with a date (1615) on the outside of the building. This is a limited edition, 3-color print, carved onto a linoleum block, then hand printed on archival Stonehenge paper, on my etching press. Print area is about 9 x 12 inches, paper measures 14 x 17 inches. Each print is signed by the artist, numbered and is an original piece of art.
