Kitchen in Kinerma, Russia - Limited Edition of 5 Print

Part of my series: 'Russian Kitchen Stories'. A series of linocuts inspired by houses I’ve visited while travelling through rural Russia. What I found out while being invited as a guest that the kitchen was always the centre of the house. The hart where was cooked, eaten, sat, drunk and spoken. Eating and drinking the most banal acts in daily life, what everybody does and has to do. The first impressions where maybe not so attractive, through the chaos that reigned, the dirt and the dodgy constructions… But these imperfections and personality that prevailed fascinated me thoroughly. It was a life and gave a peak into the soul. Hand printed and limited edition linocuts, 4 left!
