ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This print is an open edition created with all hand process of: screen printing, hand stamps and hand embroidery. Hand embroidery is used to show the London Marathon route. I am an artist inspired by my travels and as a keen runner was tossing up between running the London and Paris marathon in 2017. I chose to run the Paris Marathon and make and artwork based on the London marathon route. If you have travelled / lived in London and would prefer the hand stitching to depict other routes around the city this can also be done as I understand some people hate the thought of running a marathon.

Since graduating with a Masters in Fine Art at Monash University in Melbourne Tarli has been exhibiting regularly around Australia. Tarli is an artist inspired by a passion for travelling and exploring. Intuition guides the recreations of her surroundings- reimagining the built and natural environment with simple lines, colour, texture and patterns that extend the boundaries of representation. With a deliberate application of acrylic, spray paint and embroidery, Tarli uses each layer of materials to represent the effects of human action on the natural environment. The first layer of acrylic paint suggests human influence, the second of spray paint suggests human influences and the third layer of embroidery indicates the impact of both natural events and urban developments on a landscape.
