About The Artwork

Silkscreen hand printed of various colors on thick quality paper, printed size 32 cm x 47 cm (total paper 33 cm x 50 cm). Limited edition, only 10 prints have been made. Every print can be slightly different because they are manual prints. The semi-abstract ´Los Dos Pájaros` (´The Two Birds`) is based on black and white photos of Hornbill birds. The photos are taken and darkroom-printed by the artist herself. So is the silkscreen print as well. The image idea was a play of composition and colors. Inspiration artists for this art work are Andy Warhol, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin.

Lisa Prudon was born and raised in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam she partly followed the teacher training in drawing d'Witte Lelie and the 1st grade Drawing Teachers' Training at the Lutmastraat. At the age of 28, she moved first to Hoorn and next to Werveshoof from where she started ´Prudon Design`. She designed for various clients on commission. For three years, she designed the monthly exhibition posters for the Artists' association ´Kunstenaarsvereniging Hoorn en omstreken`. She also painted portraits at that time and received various airbrush assignments. In 2004 and 2005 she worked on freelance basis as tattoo artist at Custom Tattoo Supplies. In addition, she created free work such as screen-prints, linocut prints and airbrush work. In 2006 she moved to the south of Spain, the Alpujarra Mountains, where she organized, together with a partner, special holidays aimed at drawing and painting the beautiful surroundings. After three years she decided to continue alone and to focus more on developing her own art and giving courses and workshops. She finds her inspiration mainly in nature and people in her own environment. The direct creative 'communication' plays an important role for her. In addition to direct work, she uses her own photographs, previously printed in her darkroom, as inspiration sources. In Spain she became involved in two artists groups. First in 2010,'Alpujarra: Arte Vivo` and from 2016 Artist's Network Alpujarra. In both groups she was involved from the start of the group. Missing her family, she moved back to the Netherlands in the Summer of 2019.
