"Marilyn" - 1984 (Limited Edition Lithograph - Red) 32Hx25W Marilyn Monroe: “A Tribute to Marilyn Monroe (Red)” by Brett Livingstone-Strong is a celebration of the day Marilyn Monroe cast her handprints, footprints and signature into the cement of the Grumman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. If you look closely, the viewer will see Marilyn’s signature, handprints and shoe prints in the Lithograph. Casting handprints and footprints is a tradition in Hollywood and a significant part of an actor being thought of as a movie star. This Lithograph mirrors the original studio print, which was created of handmade, deckled edge rag paper, inset with pieces of fine gold cord. The original studio print was deeply embossed, creating a dimensional surface, with handprints; high heal footprints, and Marilyn’s signature in script. Hand painting applied on top in gold acrylic. Stamped with a Seal ‘Authorized by the estate of Marilyn Monroe and the Chinese Theater’. The original print was signed by the artist and marked ‘studio proof’ in pencil. This Lithograph is a must for any Marilyn fan!
