About The Artwork

Owl Dreaming Lino cut print of an Owl. It's based on a stylised illustration that I created. I've had dreams of owls and even saw one in my backyard once. They're one of the most amazing birds, with powerful talons, hearing and eyesight. The owl has been represented in mythology in various cultures. Nocturnal birds of prey, owls universally symbolise the powers of night, mystery, and wisdom. In Ancient Greece the owl was a symbol of the goddess Athena with some Australian First Nations people the owl is considered to be the sacred spirits of women. -- Lino Cut - hand signed and numbered Paper: Rives 250 gsm cotton rag paper. Oils based ink. Limited edition of 15 hand signed prints Unframed Lino cut print

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My work is about simplifying and interpreting various forms, most notably the natural environment. The painted works, with an emphasis on colour, pattern, and light, explore the concept of a fusion of representation and abstraction. I'm fascinated by the effects of colour on our emotions and internal states. Making art has a therapeutic component that is equally as important as viewing art. My primary influences for the linocuts include Australian printmakers Margret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan, as well as Japanese printmakers Un'ichi Hiratsuka and the Ssaku-Hanga woodblock print movement ("creative prints") from the twentieth century. My painting is inspired by Paul Klee, Marc Chagall, Arthur Boyd, and Mid-Century designers and illustrators. Among the artworks for sale are lino cut prints, woodcut prints, and Giclée fine art digital prints. All linocut prints are hand-printed without the use of a press. Each print in the edition is distinct and one-of-a-kind.
