About The Artwork
This print design depicts a barn owl clasping a human eye within it's beak. I carved it along side my print 'Swallowed Brood', them sharing a theme of mankind VS nature. I looked towards fables and surrealism when formulating my concept, wanting to translate the sometimes violent concurrence of ourselves and wildlife through a physical representation. The A5 lino took the best of three weeks to carve, which lent me time to prepare various backgrounds to print onto.
