About The Artwork
Inspired by the vast frog and pig collections I saw in the houses of people I visited working as a community psychiatric nurse, over the past few years I have repeatedly found our pink and green friends a fun starting point to making work. Even taking into account the British pig obsession, the cartoon Peppa Pig (here represented by a T-shirt depicting Peppa's brother George holding his toy dinosaur) is almost unbelievably popular and ingrained in the national psyche. The skull is an almost ubiquitous image in contemporary art, but which of the two motifs evoke the greatest response? The skull? Or Peppa fucking Pig?
