About The Artwork

Artwork details: Limited Edition Print №3 (10 copies) with acrylic frames and museum-grade transparent acrylic front, artist's hand signature, numbered and delivered with a certificate. Concept: Derealization is a disconnection from reality, a disorientation of the mental state which altered what once seemed normal. A conscious disconnection from the surrounding world everybody can encounter in their lifetime, the experience of something that feels real but isn't. The effect where colours and shapes appear to be displaced due to changes in the observer's point of view, an effect which historically has propelled our understanding of the universe and how it looks like, among others – and the potential hallucination effect to offer depth from the apparent surface at cracks and fissures in our reality.

Inna Wegener is known as "rare.weg" and is a multidisciplinary artist based in Hong Kong. Born in Ukraine, Kyiv, she started expressing herself at an early age through street art, public performances and art installations. She has collaborated with famous brands like Nike, Acne Studios, YSL and others across the Asia Pacific and Europe. Inna’s practice is a continuous reflection and questioning of one’s perception and interpretation of the physical world. Her work is a unique exploration of the idea of the common collective vision of colours and shapes versus the unusual and sometimes rare individual ones. Most of her inspiration is drawn from nature which she transcribes on paper by letting her hand free-flowing at first, then going more in-depth, adding layers after layers of other colours and using the tools for street art. A single of her original artwork on paper can take up to a month adding more and more details.
