About The Artwork

Picture: One-of-the-Kind signed by Kay Uwe Rott Info: The listed purchase price of the original is a cost estimate. I can tell the exact cost when I know how big the picture should be, with or without frame, on canvas, acrylic glass or aluminum dibond, tax, shipping, etc. About this picture: Symbolism of Gold and Black The choice of gold and black as the main colors holds significant symbolism. Gold often represents wealth, power, and opulence. In this context, it may symbolize the allure of material gain and the seductive nature of worldly possessions. The use of black, in contrast, can symbolize darkness, mystery, and the unknown. It suggests the enigmatic and potentially sinister aspects of the pact being made. The Theme of Soul-Selling The central theme of "Sold Soul" revolves around the concept of soul-selling. This theme has deep roots in mythology, literature, and folklore, often portraying individuals who make Faustian bargains, trading their souls for power, knowledge, or desires. It raises profound questions about the human condition, the pursuit of desires, and the consequences of making such deals. The Man as a Symbol of Temptation The man in the artwork, resembling a king or a figure of authority, serves as a symbol of temptation and allure. His crown suggests that he holds power or dominion over those who are making the pact. His role in the composition represents the driving force behind the soul-selling, tempting individuals with promises or rewards. The Women as Seekers of Desires The women surrounding the man are portrayed as seekers of their desires or wishes. They are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, trading their souls, for the fulfillment of their ambitions or desires. Their actions and expressions convey a complex mix of longing, desire, and perhaps even desperation.
