This mirrors David Bowie's impact on popular culture in the late 20th century where he acted as a prism for societal norms, filtering out the strands that made up the veneer of the social order and presenting back a unique image of potentiality. The official act of portraying Bowie on a stamp - a government issued document - elevates the impact of pop culture on our everyday lives when it may otherwise be relegated to the unimportant.
