This adaptation of Michelangelo's 'The Creation of Adam' was inspired by the scientific findings of leading geneticist and National Geographic Explorer-In-Residence, Spencer Wells (http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/the-search-for-adam/), who discovered that the man whose Y chromosome has been passed to all people on Earth was born in the Rift Valley, likely on the current territory of Tanzania or Ethiopia. Spencer Wells states that the evidence is clear to show that Adam looked nothing like Michelangelo's Adam. And, if God made Adam to look like himself, then God must have been black. This adaptation was created using Photoshop and is printed on canvas.
