I studied under Cecil Collins at Central St. Martin's School of Art, and both his work and the work of William Blake inspired this work. I grew up in Hertfordshire and love spending time in nature. The Shepherd Boy signifies making ones way through the inner world as well as that of nature. The symbiotic connection to nature is expressed through the sky seeming to swirl around the shepherd's crook and the stars and cosmic energy appearing on the boy's face. I find the medium of Linocut quite environmentally friendly as the lino itself is made from linseed oil. The image size is different than the paper size. The image size is approx 15.5inches H x 10inches W on the paper (approx size as stated in description).

I show regularly at Bankside Gallery which, the home of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers of which I am a member and fellow. My prints and watercolours have shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition many times. I worked in making limited edition books for many years and these are held in both public and private collections, including the National Art Library, The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), Ashmolean Museum, Museum Van Het Boek, The Hague, Netherlands, British Library, St. Stephen Museum Hungary, U.C.L.A., Winchester University Library and others in the U.K., collections in Cincinnati, U.S.A., and Korea, Trinity College Dublin, Longleat House Library, Yale University Library and other collections; the work also having been shown at Tate Britain. I grew up in Hertfordshire and moved to London to study and have lived here ever since. My love of nature is reflected in my imagery.
