About The Artwork

The Waterfall In a sort of way, it was an ordinary landscape since it was just another small pathway winding its way through the countryside that I always followed 3- or 4-times a week for my daily walking exercise but I never saw anything spectacular about it. It was just a little waterfall which tumble down a little rise in the land beside the pathway but the evening before it had rained rather heavily but today the little stream resembled a wild waterfall tumbling down a steep mountainside. Anyway, that is what my artist’s imagination saw and suddenly I felt very generous and wanted others to see what my imagination saw. This was not just some rainwater pouring down a hillside but cosmic movement. That stream of water flowing down the embankment on which ran the old unused railway track for the trains that went by a 100 years ago since the old iron bridge that crossed the Maine river had been built higher than the river banks resulting in the imaginary little mountain range. Since the rail track was not used anymore the water pouring down although not crystal clear was clean and gave the impression that it was urgent to come down like those ancient trains that rushed onwards to their destination so at risk of repeating myself in short it was not the water or the little shrubs on the embankment that caught my eye but what was so captivating about it all was that leisurely but urgent movement in the flowing of the water just like those old trains chugging away with the passengers calmly sitting inside in the legendary past. If I could see all this in my mind's eye the challenge before me was could I make the spectators also see it?

Born 1954 India Now have my art studio in Angers in France.Have been painting and etching for more than 25 years. My inspiration comes from my working experience with S.W.Hayter and other contemperory artists like Krishna Reddy. Now do mainly digital works like painting and printmaking. For this I have developed a new form of new media prints using digitalized technique and maroufled onto a heavy art paper of at least 300 gms. After the transfer by marouflage of the printed artwork onto the heavy art paper it is once again worked on by the artist to obtain the art effect and printed in a limited edition of 8 prints + 1 artist's proof, with signature and number. The paintings also are digital works on art paper that has been maroufled onto a canvas that is signed by me. All work is done by me in my personal art studio in Angers in France. The work is mostly inspired from my ramblings in the countryside and the sensation or feelings thus produced which I try to share with the spectators of my works.
