VIRGIN 6 Print - Limited Edition of 1

VIRGIN 6 is part of an 8 print "virgin series." The Virgin series of prints is inspired by Carrie Mae Weems’s “May Days Long Forgotten,” an incredibly “subversive” photo series featuring three African-American girls in flower dresses lounging in the grass. When I first saw the images I thought it was the most subversive and rebellious message an African-American artist could disseminate in society. The idea that African-American girls had the right to just exist as images of innocence and beauty in the world. My print “Virgins” are disseminating the same defiant message in black and white the right to exist in peace and beauty. This print is one of a kind and will not be duplicated.
