ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This stone was quarried from the depths of the jungle in the deepest valley of the island. It is very hard and difficult to polish. Part of the surface of the stone was left in its natural state for a textured contrast to what is is otherwise a finished polish that was entirely shaped by hand. The hole symbolises a passage between one realm and another. The biomorphic form has a timeless aspect that the artist refers to as "Future - Primitive" abstraction.
