About The Artwork
This mesquite burl was destined for distruction until I rescued it from a landscaper's dump pile. After a study of the burl, it became evident it wanted to be some sort of 4 legged animal. What animal, I'm not sure, let your imagination take you there. I prefer working with mesquite burls, studying their unique characteristics, determining their best use, and with a minimalist approach, give new life to an otherwise discarded burl. The exterior was sanded to 2000 grit and finished with three coats of hand rubbed natural oil. The interior was finished with a thick coat of clear bar top resin. The piece can be used for display, or as a container for condiments such as nuts, chips, fruit and vegetables. Please enjoy 4 Leg Thing!
