This is part of an ongoing series of works using the baseball bat as a motif. Taken from a memory of the artists time, living with anarchists in Amsterdam during the 1984 miners strike. This work is part of the artists "Loot Crate" series. This work is made from recycled timbers taken from a recently closed artists studio, carved and not turned into baseball bats. The work is housed in and framed by the (hardwood ply) art crate itself, speaking of the unseen labour that goes into the art world while making the work ready for all situations. Decorated with images of social history often not taught and usually forgotten.
