Picking apart, isolating, extracting, examining piece by piece, fragment by fragment, smaller and smaller — searching for clues leading to a clear view of the overall picture. This has value, doubtless to say, but this is action characteristic of and fueled by thought. Is there a way of looking, perceiving, experiencing where thoughts become superficial and a different quality of seeing is realized? This investigation is part of the inspiration behind "Motion And Relationship No.2". Making conceptual definitions of space and motion enable communication and technology but the one depends on the other and vice versa. This interrelatedness is the window through which we shall peer, if we may. What is this field which we observe through this metaphysical window? What are the conditions for us to see this field? Eyes open, the bird flaps its wings and soars through the air. The description and story is not in this field. A shockingly loud noise; there is a reaction in the body. This reaction as well as all action occur in the present but the memory is not the occurence, rather the memory occurs as itself in the present. So presence is a necessary condition for seeing out this metaphysical window. How do we know if our perception is of the present quality? If we are judging what we see there is processing time which takes us away from immediate perception. So pure and direct perception is another necessary condition to see out the metaphysical window. Now, we can see the beauty of motion in space in its inseparability. We can throw time into the soup. If we are thinking while looking, we must throw the thought process into the soup too. Everything is thrown into the soup including the sense of "me" or the do-er of the action. Now, here we stand unseparable from the "world" we see. Our perception becomes whole and undivided. There is timeless being. We and the world, together, are that field — the field that thought cannot touch. This is our relationship in motion.
