Anima II Sculpture

Anima II is to evoke the transformative, complex and multi-layered character of the female psyche.The piece is meant to appear like metal. Its precious, shiny appearance is contrasted by the softness of the velvet cushion. The piece was inspired by the skull of a horned animal. It is transformed partially into a female torso that is pressed gently into the pillow. The abstracted twisted horns, the sharp edges of the rib cage and the thorn-like nipples can be seen as alluring but also repelling. The erotic undertones are enforced by the sensual quality of the materials. The art work is framed and includes professional hooks for display on the wall.
