This is my second life-size horse sculpture. This time I decided to make an Arabian horse. If you know, the Arabian horse has a curved swan neck, a concave nose, a tail that always sticks up when the horse runs, and expressive large eyes. I tried to display all these details in the sculpture. It was up to you to decide whether it worked or not. The process of creating a sculpture begins with collecting material. I collect it along the banks of the Chusovaya, Kama, Vishera rivers - these rivers are located in the Urals, next to the Ural mountains. Collecting material is a very exciting and difficult process. Find driftwood that looks like a horse's eyes, mane, ears, or legs. But this is insanely interesting! Sometimes you eat in the morning and say to yourself, "You need to find a snag for your eye," you come and you immediately come across it, and sometimes you can spend the whole day and find nothing suitable. Like this. After all the details are assembled (there are 146 of them in this sculpture), I start collecting the sculpture. After that, each part is cleaned, soaked in oil. There is a metal frame inside the horse. I collected this horse for 3 months. The horse can be placed on the ground without a base, or it can be placed on a base indoors. I made this sculpture with love, trying to find its place for every detail. I sawed only 6 parts with a saw, the rest were installed in the form in which I found them on the river bank.

Let’s get to know each other! Igor Rogovsky, architect, construction worker, sculptor. Live and work in Russia. I make driftwood products. I’ve designed more than 200 wooden houses. I’ve personally built 5 wooden houses using the Norwegian technology and soon my family will be living in one of those houses. I absolutely love wood, work with it and I respect this material so much since I feel like it has a very special energy. Why did my choice fall on this material ? It’s because I love harmony, I love turning harmony into not just a structure but a piece of art. Organizing simple and complex pieces of wood into one elegant form is indeed an interesting job. Creating something beautiful and unusual while preserving the environment and drawing my inspiration from nature – that’s my goal.
