About The Artwork

The armchair for cruising in the clouds is a device where you can move comfortably in your fantasies. In fictitious realities, it is better to fly, sitting comfortably in the airplane chair, and slightly rocking on cloud tides. Despite the fact that it is a material object from the physical world, it helps to travel through the inner cosmos and open new mental horizons to every soul, who is not bound by the mental boundaries.

Weld Queen is a sculptor and performer. The main media Weld Queen works with are metal, welding techniques, and fireproof tarpaulin; thus, she creates her artist mythology through metal sculptures, royal costumes, performances, and public art. Since 2015, Weld Queen has realized more than 40 sculptural projects and curated 3 art residencies. Some of her works are in private collections in France and the USA. ARTIST STATEMENT: My work explores the confrontation of the social and spiritual essences of human beings. The former was shaped under the influence of commonly accepted stereotypes. Sometimes the established norms impede a person's ability to appreciate his true nature, to believe in himself, and to realize his potential. I believe that the limits created by the material world around a person and encouraging him to act in favor of these standards are one of the significant problems of contemporary society. A person becomes driven by someone else's goals and remains in the position of a child for a long time. On the one hand, a child is obedient; on the other hand, he wants to satisfy immediate needs, which then grow into adult vices and turn a person into a weak, willless creature. For me, it is important to explore my spiritual nature and consciousness, because this is how we can become happy and successful. In my art, living the life of a "queen of welding," or Weld Queen, that I invented, featuring sculptural characters made of metal, royal performative accessories, and even my own royal retinue, I create the rules of the game and pass consciously through all the passions and desires inherent in egoism. My mission is to convey to people through sculpture the power to free themselves from the shackles of the material world and develop constructively.
