About The Artwork

This sculpture is part of a 6 marble sculptures series called " Birds of Paros " , all made from the antique marble of greek island, Paros. ' Lychnitis ' marble was in the antiquity extracted for his beautiful white cristals and the fact that the light can go through a large thickness of marble. Those quarries are no longer exploited. In this series " Birds of Paros ", the idea is to keep the minimal figuration of a bird into a stone, so the wings and the beak... and maybe an eye !
