Build and Break Sculpture

This sculpture references a progression through a cycle of construction and destruction. The paper resembles a fragile skin that is cracked and falling away, revealing the architectural framework underneath, like an old building under renovation. When looking at this piece, I would like for viewers to be reminded of their own impermanence. We are all constantly changing both inside and out. Instead of consistent, static beings, we are always in flux, a work in progress being shaped by our experiences, our environments, and by time.
