About The Artwork
This series began in early 2020 and continues to be my personal favourite. Each piece aims to emit a joyful and inviting presence, a pure and beautiful object with a unique and personal composition of shapes and indulging colour. The sculpture is your 'Colourful Companion', designed to last and devoted to gratification. 'Colourful Companion #21' includes paler tones and a large impressive delicate structure. I choose to use steel rod or tube for its strength and mold-ability as well as it's potential for secure, delicate, 'natural' joins between the layers. The layers are connected with intricately crafted tiny welded steel pins and sockets, with meticulous attention to detail and an unblemished finish. With this I'm aiming to avoid distraction and allow the distinct form to come alive with characterful effect as an entity. I choose colour combinations that I love and hope to see, and I like to tie together shapes within the sculpture with geometry, rhythm and family like relation of their nature. It stands invitingly on a contrasting cast white concrete segment of it's environment. The sculpture and base are coated and can be wiped clean when necessary. It is an indoor sculpture.

Based in Surrey, UK. In 2016 I first began experimenting with steel, creating sculptural gifts and furniture for friends and family using a range of techniques. My passion quickly ignited and I formed an expanding range of original outdoor sculptures and garden ornaments each made uniquely by hand. My business formed and I began exhibiting at garden shows across the UK, creating bespoke commissions, and working with gardens designers on new and exciting projects. Each year my work has progressed, and I naturally apsire to create more advanced and fresh designs. I still create small work enough for an indoor shelf or outside flower bed, as well as full scale bespoke instillations that can take years to develop. In 2020 my passion focuses on simplicity, minimalism, and my new incorporation of paint! I aim to create beautiful, inspired compositions of shapes and bold colour. Tube continues to be my favorite medium, allowing me to ‘draw’ lines in 3d space as though using pen on paper.
