About The Artwork
Ipek is fascinated by the infinity of organic forms. She pursues the utopia of recreating a dense record of all the textures her hands can reinvent. There is a calming beauty in concentrated piece of pure chaos, united by the porcelain, represented in pure white, as if striped to its very soul. The reason why she uses porcelain in her works is to emphasize once again how fragile the balances in nature are. Porcelain is a material produced only from raw materials of natural origin.

Ipek has been diverting her passion to create different forms since she completed her Master’s Degree in Faculty of Industrial Engineering at Marmara University, Istanbul in 2006. Since porcelain is the most difficult type of clay to work on, she brings together both her knowledge of the world of mathematics and her admiration for the perfection of nature while designing her works. In her porcelain works, she tries to remind once again how perfectly harmony nature is, which people tend to forget and get lost in the hustle and bustle of life. Ipek was born in Iraq in 1983 and she migrated to Turkey with her family when she was three years old.
