Devils Throne. Sculpture

The devils throne / Highway to hell, was inspired by a few things. I’ve always loved the velvet paintings, depicting the devil in a moment of humanity :). As one of my 1st attempts at painting, I created my own recreation of the common image, using it as a centerpiece for the lyrically influenced sculpture. This sculpture is also influenced by my many years working in the Oil, Natural Gas, & geothermal industries, as well as my time fighting & working in the Marines! This piece was also lyrically inspired, by the popular AC/DC song “Highway to Hell”. Working with metal, & vintage industrial relics, is always my preference. This piece, is one of the few I’ve done, that includes one of my very few paintings, as a centerpiece, of the sculpture. I enjoy Repurposing unique mechanical pieces from the late 1800’s & early 1900’s. Combining them, and joining them into a wild & imaginative piece of modern art. Giving these pieces a chance to tell a much different story, and allowing them to display their existence and beauty, in ways they never have. This is a fun sculpture that wildly captures the humanity of the most negative character in our history. My hope with this, was to create a piece that speaks to the hell we sometimes live, the hell we raise, the hell we live through, & the hell we sometimes fight our way out of! This is a piece that I hope puts each viewers mind to work, and brings out their own conclusions to its meaning and what it represents; both good & bad! This piece retains the character, of each part used, capturing & preserving the years of crust, rust, scars, & memories; by sealing the beautiful Patina. This sculpture shows the raw emotion, that these mechanical scraps from the past, posses, & draw from each-other, as on collective piece! This piece stands alone, but is best displayed on a pedestal, stand, table, desk, etc. the pictures stand / pedestal, is not included, but is available at an additional charge.
