'Doctor's Notes' was apart of my 'Journal Series', a collection of relief assemblages that took on an almost shrine-like feel to the sculptures they contained. This work was the accumulation of almost 10 years worth of antique scientific, medical and surgical relics from the past. These fascinating found objects enveloped and interwove themselves next to, on top of, around and even through the base of the work, an old accounts ledger from my father's family business. I enjoyed the idea behind this work, of keeping the "cost" of health care, medical assistance and the absurdity of this journal being inaccessible to those who wish to see it. The gathering weight of health issues literally growing and becoming a burden to humanity.
