Domingo - one of the three tenors - sculpted bird art Sculpture

Birds and music have always been my inspiration for creating art. While Domingo, Pavarrati and Carreras are known as the famous tenors, my song birds are similar in that they are expressions of song birds with stretched out actions of theatrical opera singers. The colourful personalities sculptures are playful, bringing a smile to the viewer. The birds are light weight easy enough to hold (not hug), I wouldn't encourage stoking the bird like a pet but the art collector will know that each feather is handmade and crafted to fit the birds. Birds bring me JOY and this is what I wish for the collector. I work with materials that are familiar to me, fabric, paper, picture frame wire and threads are common things in my studio it was finding the collective materials and putting them into an art form. The paper mache base happened to be a practical form that is strong enough to hold the weight of additional materials, in fact it strengthens the sculpture. Domingo - opens his heart to you, filling his lungs with music, his wings back and his head held high ready to release the sounds of music.
