Don Kikhot Sculpture

A personal exhibition is not only a report of own creative work, but it is a confession about yourself, about one,s own world-looking, attitude to life; the more sincere is the confession, the more faster and more simpler finds the creator a way to the heart of thankful spectators. This is the very point from where I want to start the talk of a guest of the transent world, the 70 years old painter-sculptor Ushangi Kadagishvili. He was born in 1940, 18th of September, in Qiziki, Sighnaghi region, village of Magharo. In 1956 he has graduated from the Institute of theatre. during his studying at the Institute he won the prize in the actors' competition and worked at K. Marjanishvili Theatre as an actor, then at the Theatre of Sanitary Culture, and finaly at the Youth Editorial Boar of TV. His theatrical life was exhaused by in and in1965 he entered the Faculty of monumental sculpture of Tbilisi Academy of Arts, wich he has graduated from in 1972 with Honor's Diploma. Since the year of 1976 he is the member of the Georgian Artists' Union. Since 1972 till present he is the participant of all the creative works exhibition arranged in Tbilisi. 27 works by the Georgian Cultural Foundation, as well the bronze version of the sketch of the Diploma has been purchased by Kutaisi Museum of Arts. The sculpture made of Shamot material of Ayety is kept at Telavi Museum. In 1991 the personal exhibition of his works was arranged at Tbilisi Painter's House. At the exhibition more than two hundred works were represented: sculpture, graphics, medal art. In December of 1996 in the city of Dijhon in france his four monuments. In 1997 at the saloon “Arts” of the Museum of Arts his personal exhibition was arranged. In September, 2000, at the National Gallery there was arranged the 60 Years Jubilee Exhibition of the Painter where there have been represented many works. That very year the painter was awarded the “Honor's Medal”. In the creative works of U. Kadagishvili, those principles of artistic searching have found their expression wich were characteristic to Georgian fine arts of the 60s and to that generation. In painting this was the period of reviling the searching of new ways. The thematic of works reflects the past and contemporaneity of the Georgian people. In them it is clearly seen the creative personality of the sculptor, his artistic vision. He gives mainly priority to linear initial in the form.
