About The Artwork

Beautiful mythical creature, the bird of Sirin is the heroine of many tales and legends. There is a noticeable similarity in her name with the Slavic sirens and it is no coincidence. The ancient Greeks feared her, because she could lure any traveler or sailor with her beautiful singing, and after ruin. The beautiful maiden with a body of a bird in mythology was associated with misfortune and trouble. Sometimes it seemed that she did not want to bear the burden of sadness, because her face was sad, and tears flowed from her eyes. If she was a person, it meant his imminent demise. The strange thing is that people did not reject it and were not afraid. Sirin is an omen of trouble, but also a great opportunity to say goodbye to their loved ones before death and prepare for it psychologically. In the drawings, the prophetic bird Sirin is depicted everywhere in the same way: a beautiful big bird with a woman's head and a sad face. Her gaze is thoughtful and piercing, and her large blue eyes convey the sadness that sits inside her. On some canvases it can be seen with large flaps of wings. She sits, as a rule, only in the flowering bushes, on the branches of trees or by the water. On his head flaunts a crown that symbolizes her divine.
