About The Artwork

The work came out of my imagination. I wanted to create multiple figures by using light to create the reflections that would become part of my scuplture that will be ever changing depending on the light source. I want the viewer to be fascinated by the play of light reflecting on and through the figure.

Born in Cut Knife, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1945;Raised in North Battleford, Sakatchewan. In 1963, attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec where Stromberg still resides as well as Lake George, New York, USA.Stromberg's art is neither figurative nor abstact. It is a fusion of the two based on her astute observations of Humanity and Nature. She is an energetic, imaginative, focused individual. Her sculptures have an emotional context that emerges from deep within her psyche from whence comes her ultimate inspiration. Early in her sculpture career, Strombergs' sculptures were purchased outright by Dr. Stern, owner of Canada's premier gallery: Dominion Gallery. Her bronzes were purchased by the Canadian Government to be presented to Heads of State in foreign countries visited by the Prime Minister of Canada and the President of the Canadian Senate. The Canadian Government presented Stromberg sculptures to then Presidents, Clinton and Yeltsin at the Vancouver World Summit. The size of her sculptures vary from small to monumental. Her largest sculpture: ''Osmosis", is located in the public gardens of Rideau Hall: Government House at the Capital city of Canada, Ottawa. Stromberg was chosen by Mountain Lakes PBS TV to be their "Featured Artist", following which she was invited to be a member of their Board of Directors. In march of 2021, her sculpture The Undulating Immortality of Time was selected by the McGill Visual Arts Collection to be the featured artwork for their weekly De-Stress and Sketch event. www.susanstromberg.com
