About The Artwork

As an Astronomy major in my first year of college, I became fascinated with Black Holes, and the death of a Star. Fast forward to the present day, I often wonder about "black holes" and the "abyss" in our daily lives. We certainly are aware of our thoughts and dreams that materialize into physical realities. But what about the ones that don't materialize, or have lived out their life-expectancy? Where do those unfulfilled or expired thoughts and dreams go? Perhaps into the Abyss? And how do they enter the abyss? I created "Entryways To The Abyss II" as a sequel to the first one. The entryways here are a lot more formidable than the first - you could encounter barriers or get hurt by some of life's sharp edges as you enter... The shapes were first cut with an Xacto knife, then manipulated and hand painted, to resemble steel, with the finest Winsor Newton Gouache paint, on Arches hot press watercolor paper. Each shape was then mounted on a black mat board, then onto a black canvas, and framed into a floater frame. Each piece of artwork that I have created comes signed and dated, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
