Escape from Alcatraz (Escape from Alcatraz) is a 1979 film directed by Don Siegel. The movie, filmed in the prison of Alcatraz 16 years after its permanent closure, is based on the eponymous book by J. Campbell Bruce, and describes the true story of evasion of three detainees, Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin, occurred in the night of 11 June 1962.
