My series of “X Constructions” represents this iconic symbol, often appearing throughout my body of pieces. The “X” shape means something different to each person. It can be an intersection of two things, brought together to create an interception of two things. It could, on the other hand, symbolize crossing something out. I was inspired many years ago by an artist/professor at the Laguna Beach School of Art. I attended a very great contemporary art class where we made mixed media art. The teacher himself painted life-sized “X” canvases with bold, impasto acrylic strokes.
