About The Artwork

Design “fiets-bord” for the Rijksmuseum Award 2015. Holland is a bicycle country. In Amsterdam the bike is one of the most important ways of transport. And the Rijksmuseum is the only museum in the world where a cycle path runs through. This unique position is for us a reason for the design of a “fiets-bord”. This design is also a nod to the difficult relationship that the Rijksmuseum had with the Amsterdam cyclist during the renovation of the museum. Although this resulted in a special and successful design of the new main entrance for the Rijksmuseum.
