Fist Sculpture

A symbol of strength and power, the Fist stands upright and positive, a good reminder to maintain one's posture in body and spirit.   ​What I like about this piece is how the original tree comes through the carving, the hand appears to be holding the branch ends in its grasp. ​Sculpted of naturally fallen ponderosa of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range and found materials, the creation of the piece offered respect to spirit and material.   All of the 'waste' wood carved away to reveal the character within has been burned or buried with ceremony, to honor the origins of the material. ​Whether for a home, yoga studio, meditation space, restaurant or other business, this piece will bring charm, character, curiosity, and a feeling of strength to any setting.
