This is a large ceramic plate / bowl , made on pottery wheel with white stoneware clay, then hand painted , fired, glazed and fired second time. I like to use different designs and motives when I paint my plates, this one is an image of "Ganesha" from Indian culture. It takes several hours to paint it, in order to make colors very bright I put two three layers of underglaze using a thing brush ,so the edges of the design look clean and even. The plate is functional and can be used as a serving dish or as decorative object of your home decor.
On the back you can see a little pit (hole) on the trimmed foot, this is a cosmetic defect which happens sometime during the firing when ceramic piece stock to the kiln shelf. It's almost not seen and does not effect functionality or the position on a table, It stays stable without shaking.
Colors are very bright and clear glaze gives it a very shiny effect.

Diameter is 11.5 inches (29 cm)

colors: Green, red, blue, orange, yellow

Style: Indian God Ganesha

Ganesha also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Hindu sects worship him regardless of affiliations. Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains and Buddhists.
