About The Artwork
Art Imitating Art. This piece is based on the painting "Gardening Goddesses" by Lisa Folsom. The painting depicts a number of heavy-set, older ladies out working a field with nothing but hats and boots on. One of those Goddesses carries a pick axe, and was my subject here. I love the colors Lisa used in her piece so I made sure to give this Goddess a nice burnt orange hat, and a dark, soiled pick axe.
