About The Artwork

Inspired by repeated visits to the Louvre Museum in Paris, and utilizing the intricate craftsmanship of framemaking in the context of contemporary art, antique frames are filled with their own content using custom molds built from digital processes. Fra[mes] is a collaboration between algorithm, artist, and master craftsman, which not only bridges the gap between digital media and old-world craftsmanship, but gives the computer an equal hand in the creative process.
