Growth in Foundation Sculpture

In November of 2015 I experienced a freedom from horrible pain at the cost of seeing my children. I have grown through the emotions from hesitant and inferiority to drive and passion. In that journey I painted the transformation using depth with the intent on changing perspectives to show that no two views of a problem are identical and that change and growth can be extremely difficult or extremely simple depending on how much weight you hold over your own head. I grew through the pains and my journey is not over but my path is set. I have seen my children again and the greater healing and growth has begun! I use a 24x24x.25" sheet of high density fiberboard, and arrange 144 1.5" PVC circles across the board in a specifically desired pattern. After creating the struggle or medium I blank out the background and add the emotions with latex paints. The way in which they mix and form and flow shows the struggle, perspective and desire to grow.
