Hardwired Sculpture

I was inspired by the amazing form of the human skull, I've always collected animal skulls since a child and wanted to put a new slant on a human one. I see this piece as quite melancholy, the brow tilted toward the ground in an almost thoughtful way. I could wax lyrical about the pose but it was really an accident. The materials used were fibreglass as the bone, fibreglass is a fantastic medium with a huge potential, not least it's durability. The rest of the skull was formed with steel rods heated and bent into shape and welded.
