ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Hat Trick" plays with the idea of weight versus weightlessness, and different dimensions 2D - 3D. In the the spirit of a magic trick, a multi-dimensional 'clapper' opens (or closes, depending on how you look at it) revealing a hand-shape - below the 'clapper' an identical hand shape hangs in the air. The whole pivets on an off-kilter pendulum shape barely holding on to it's position. The whole sculpture looks precarious, but is actually quite solid.
