Newly upholstered in stunning fabric. Solid frame has been lovingly sanded and waxed to return to its former glory. Steel reclining and swivel mechanism, original castors. All in great working order. Circa 1950s.
About the designer:
I use seating as my medium to tell stories. A lot of research goes into each unique chair I make and they become a story of their own. Like a movie prop, each represent and celebrate a historical event or an era. I try to learn as much as possible about the chairs I make, where they come from, when they were made and which fashion they represent. I then go onto watching movies and reading books on the specific period.
I collect, measure, design and produce with the most qualified upholsterers and fabric printers. Each chair I make is unique in design and an one-off piece which can’t be reproduced by it’s antique nature.
I conduct research before I start, make mood boards of images and sketches. Carry ideas around with me for a while and then illustrate each story which eventually become a part of my own story.
