Hut #6 Sculpture

this hut is stilt hut number 6, of a set of 200. Each hut starts with natural materials, and by using bamboo to make stilts, take on a new natural form each time. As each piece grows, I attempt to give each potential inhabitant the things needed for life. Influenced by shanty towns, each piece asks us to imagine the way in which we rely on each other for our way of life, and how choosing to become more isolated only leads us to being weaker individually. The fragility of the stilts contrasts with the weight of the things we collect, and how reliant we are on each other.
