About The Artwork
This piece is called "I've got you", a natural piece, showing off the harmony of the wood that only nature can bring to life. The nice contrast in the wood grain is balanced with the beautiful texture, the form is naturally shaped with gentle lines. My hope is to share my interpretation of this piece with a collector, "I've got you" is depicting somebody falling but is held up, supported, making sure you stay on track. If you are in trouble whether physical or mentally, that some one, will always be there to help and support. Love this quote, "Certain ideal beauty of nature exist only in the intellect". Born in Denmark and self taught. As a young man he always enjoyed creating items with his hands and he started working with lights [lamps]. When he immigrated to Australia in 1984 where he moved into design, mainly kitchen and furniture, and has won numerous awards. The love and passion of nature was very much influenced by his parents. Residing on the beautiful South Coast, his inspiration is derived from the local environment and natural beauty of wood. Most of his art pieces are from the local area, the abstract form of the wood emerges and is shaped with little intervention. His hope is to share his art and for people to see what inspired him to create these objects. He stands by this quote "Certain ideal beauties of nature exist only in the intellect".
