Kidd Sculpture

This is one of the few sculptures that I rescued from the wrath of hurricane "Sandy" that flooded my studio with water to the ceiling. This is ironic because the period of my work explored Nature's affect on materials and how I could incorporate them into my creative process. The photograph of the baby and the toy gun were found on a job site during a renovation job I was doing when I worked as a carpenter. The top dark wood section is part of an apple crate that I found and the pointed cement shape and the bottom section were left over parts that were rejects from other sculptures.The baby photo is lit by turning a switch on the top right corner. I suppose Joseph Cornell was whispering in my ear when I was making this.
