About The Artwork

Rolled out, high fired, freehand painted porcelain with mostly cobalt blue paint, fine white wood & glass box framing, hanging hardware is included. The artwork is influenced by ancient cultures' painting traditions. It's part of a series, only one of its kind. My work of the Porcelain is made with minimum touch of the substance. In a way, it's like throwing it and letting its sensitivity for every movement and the folding the material to determine its shape, as if the Porcelain is freezing in the movement. On the thin surface of the Porcelain, the painting contains few stages. I frequently use the cobalt blue paint. The painting technique involves very thin brushes and requires lots of patience and accuracy. Once the painting is completed, it’s being fired in high temperature. I tend to leave most of my artworks in their natural shape, with no glaze. I do believe that my porcelain art, although being created in a different way, is continuing ancient painting traditions which were integral part of ancient cultures such as the Chinese, Persian and early European.

About Anat Hadar My name is Anat. I'm a multidisciplinary artist, creating mostly in porcelain pottery and print making art. After many years of practicing art therapy, during the last few years, I focus mainly in my own creation. My porcelain work is distinguished and unique due to the fact that it is made in a primary way, with minimum touch of the material, letting the porcelain speak for itself. My creations are actually real manual work, hand painted and hence neither one resembles the other. I try to express the gentleness of the porcelain, its sensitivity for each & every movement or folding on one hand, and the drawing upon it which corresponds with the historic Chinese blue & white, Persian miniatures and Ancient European vase painting traditions on the other hand. I also tend to combine other materials in my porcelain work, mostly rocks. This combination between the porcelain's delicacy and the rocks' roughness seems magical to me. In my print making art, Most of my works are mono prints. I use various techniques. I work a lot with handmade cut outs, etching press etc… These contribute to the fact that most of my creations, as in the porcelain work, are "one of a kind". I've worked for many years in art therapy with people with special needs. This period in my life was very meaningful and most rewarding. I feel that I had the privilege to work with people who were less fortunate in their lives and felt and saw each and every time, the healing and inspiring power of art. For that, I'll forever be grateful. I was born is Israel and grew up in Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael, along the seashore. I've always felt a profound connection to nature and was deeply moved by it. Ever since I remember myself I had a strong passion for art & ancient cultures. The extent of my work actually reflects the journey of my life. It varies both in the materials and in the mediums used for my creations. Today I live with my spouse in a seaside town near Tel Aviv. A mother of three children and also a grandmother. I'm breathing, making, creating & developing art with great pleasure.
