About The Artwork
Moondancer was originally the maquette for a commissioned work - Night & Day - which consisted of two women carrying aloft a sun and a moon. The maquette contained more movement than the final sculpture of Night & Day and developed into a work in her own right capturing the image expressed in the song: Moondancer. The original is clay and mixed media and is not for sale, but cold cast bronze copies could be produced by commission.

Maxine Farmer (RBA 2024 Exhibitor) - Maxine’s passion for sculpture stems from a fascination with capturing energy, emotion and fleeting ephemeral moments as permanent 3D memories. Most of her work is figurative,but she also loves sculpting animals and scenes from nature (especially tree-scapes). Maxine creates her original sculptures in clay, plaster, or mixed media, and many are then turned into cold-cast bronzes. She has also been building a portfolio of bas relief (2D wall sculpture) and continues to experiment with new materials for her 3D work.
