About The Artwork

Male subjective is a project that deals with the notion of how the masculinity is expressed and idealised. The different nuances showed of psych on the subject. Dada Boys, by David Hopkins, have hugely influenced Male Subjectivity and his concept of the male subjectivity in the homosocial aspect of the male artist. I believe it traces the notion of sexuality and embraces and expands the idea of equality of gender, breaking the paradigm associated with the power of the masculine gender. Furthermore, but not exclusively, It would be rising the notion of gender between homosexual relations about the beliefs of ‘manly men,’ a ‘masculine man’ or/and ‘no fem,’ which it is a social behaviour acquired from our heterosexual patriarchal social myths. Using ceramic, I want to emphasise this genderless canvas and how modelling it could receive an archetypical gender relating the form and strength, deceiving the stereotypical social reference that would be a man.
